Manaus offers a look into Amazonian culture

Those who travel around the world are giving themselves the gift of experience, with life-changing memories that are impossible to forget aiding in the process of personal growth. Individuals who are on a quest for inner peace via international travel should consider a trip to the Amazon Basin, where they will find the Brazilian city of Manaus.

Located at the junction of Rios Negro and Solimoes, Manaus is a cultural gem in Brazil with an opulent history to be discovered. Although its economy has dwindled in the last few centuries, it was once an immensely wealthy city due to its prosperity in the rubber industry.

These days, there are a number of museums that pepper the Brazilian region, including the Museo de Indio, which offers a look into native Amazonian tribes in the rainforest. At the Cathedral of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, visitors can learn about the religion and spirituality of the locals. Those who are looking for some cultural entertainment can enjoy a musical performance at the Teatro Amazonas Opera House.

Vacationers who are interested in exploring the natural beauty of Manaus should visit the January Ecological Park or the Zoologico de CIGS, both of which provide a splendid scene of vibrant flora and fauna.

Enjoy native flora and fauna at Kangaroo Island

Being able to appreciate life and nature is one of the many things that students will learn in Dahn Yoga classes, and what better way to take on this ideal than with a trip to Kangaroo Island in Australia. Tourists will be able to see a number of exotic animals up close, giving them an experience of a lifetime.

Kangaroo Island is an Australian crowned jewel thanks to its natural flora and fauna, as many of the country's native plants and animals have been damaged or harmed by species that are not endemic. Thus, tourists will see a wonderfully preserved collection of undisturbed vegetation and wildlife at this attraction.

Tourists should make sure to bring their cameras to snap photos of kangaroos, southern brown bandicoots, common brushtail possums, tammar wallabies, koalas, platypuses and short-beaked echidnas. If they are lucky, visitors can spot the elusive black cockatoo, which is only found in Southern Australia.

There is plenty else to check out in Kangaroo Island beyond the animals, as the small settlement is also known to produce some of the country's most prized delicacies, such as sheep's cheese, honey and various wines.
