Luckily, adopting the holistic Eastern art of yoga along with green salads and better sleeping habits can help them optimize their well-being.
The mind-body regimen has been taken up by people all over the country, from busy city-dwellers to stressed suburbanites. This may be the main reason why yoga studios have cropped up everywhere, from East Coast fitness facilities to Colorado yoga classes.
Those who engage in the deep breathing exercises, soothing poses and gentle stretches of the program often marvel at its warm and welcoming quality. After all, people of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to participate. Additionally, the relaxation techniques can be performed virtually anywhere, whether an enthusiast prefers staying at home or attending a class in their community.
Recently, yoga practitioners gathered at a mall to engage in the holistic system, according to the Sun Sentinel. Surrounded by stores selling clothing, purses and accessories, a total of 30 men and women gathered to focus on flexibility-enhancing poses.
Cathy Rosenberg, one of the participants, brought her teenage daughter with her and explained that the exercise helped them resist the urge to shop.
"There's a lot in life that can be a distraction," she told the news source. "This is a perfect setting to challenge yourself."
According to instructor Ross Holland, such sessions can "pull people in who may never have experienced yoga otherwise. It creates a challenge to find your inner self when you are in a place like this."
