The first time I felt the power of Ki energy was when I went on an errand for my mother when I was five. The next time was in my mid-twenties, when I visited an old bookstore in the old center of Seoul in Korea. I picked up a book whose cover was falling off and turned it to the first page. There I saw a sentence that sent jolts of electricity running through me. It said, “If you achieve enlightenment through positive energy and deeds, you will be invincible.” As soon as I read that sentence, a live wire was running through me and an invisible warmth formed a blanket around me. I was a third-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and had even run a martial arts school, but I had never felt this way before. I did not want to let this feeling go. As I rode the bus back home, I sat huddled to myself, quiet, drunk on that wonderful and powerful feeling. Afterwards, my life became dictated by Ki energy,
The next day, I woke up at four o’clock in the morning. And the morning after that later on, I found out that four A.M. is the time when the energy connection between the cosmos and Earth is the strongest. If you become sensitized to the flow of Ki, then your body will naturally respond to its rhythm. I did not used to be a morning person at all. But afterwards, I would get up at four A.M.
