Along with our wants and desires, our gods matured as our egos grew. When our awareness stopped at the tribal level, our gods were tribal gods. When our awareness expanded to include an ethnic identity, our gods were ethnic gods. Our gods grew through conquests. During tribal struggles, gods of war and gods of vengeance ruled the day. As our wants and desires grew, gods came to be more powerful and important, creating a divine hierarchy based upon power and strength.
Although gods grew in strength according to humanity’s needs, individual gods retained their individual traits, formed when they first appeared on Earth. A god of anger still remains a god of anger, and a god of jealousy still turns green with envy. Currently, many efforts are underway to create a unified, interconnected world, although each effort has differing aims and goals. During this process, civilizations clash, traditions conflict, and understandings differ. Simply put, one type of information goes up against another. The war of gods continues.
