In the East, we have a saying: “Where the mind goes, energy follows.” You can see that this is true in just about every human endeavor. Every human achievement, from the most magnificent architectural wonder to the most amazing technological instrument, first came as an idea within someone’s brain. After that initial thought, that person or a group of people had to continually focus their mental and physical energy toward the making of that idea into physical form. If they had not, it would have remained just a thought that passed through a person’s brain without consequence.
In achieving your goals, you need the same sort of will and determination that built the Seven Wonders of the World. The great builders, thinkers, and artists of the world were not content to think small, and neither should you be.
You should not be afraid to set your goals in life very high. Your vision of who you want to be in this world should fill you with a sense of profound joy. Don’t base your goals merely on what you think is safe, or on what others approve of or admire. When you picture your future, you should see the highest, most amazing version of you that you can possibly imagine. If you hold this vision dear to your heart and work toward it continuously, you will always be moving onward and upward in your life.
