From Dahn Yoga Meridian Exercise by Ilchi Lee
Benefits: Transports Ki energy accumulated in the lower abdomen to vital organs and the entire body. Helps to heal ulcers and to balance overproduction of acid secretions in the stomach. This exercise also alleviates sciatica, numbness in the hands and the feet, and shoulder pain and stimulates appetite.
- Sit with your right leg extended in front of you, knee soft. Place your left foot comfortably on your right knee. Clasp your hands and place them on top of your left foot at the lower abdomen.
- Inhale. Bend from your hips while reaching your hands forward and clasping your fingers around your right foot.
- Continue to hold your breath for as long as you comfortably can. Exhale and return to the original posture.
- Repeat twice and then switch legs.
